The questions are surprisingly predictable. Here’s the punchy breakdown of what admissions teams really want to know, and how you can shine.
🔥 1. Who Are You? (General Questions)
This is your moment to set the tone. Expect openers like:
Tell me about yourself.
How would you describe yourself?
What are you best at?
They’re not looking for your life story — they want clarity, confidence, and a sense of what makes you tick.
🎯 2. Why This Subject? Why Now? (Motivation & Commitment)
Admissions tutors want proof that your interest isn’t random. They’ll dig into:
What you’ve enjoyed most in your current studies.
Why you chose this degree.
What part of the course excites you.
A topical development you’ve seen in the media — and your take on it.
This is where curiosity, passion, and awareness of the field matter.
📚 3. Can You Learn Independently? (Self‑Directed Study)
University = self‑motivation. Expect questions like:
